These torque springs are a stiffer spring than the factory spring to go in your secondary clutch. These are compression style springs, unlike the torsion style springs that come in the 4 and 6 rivet clutches from the factory. The compression style springs allow us to go with a stiffer spring rate which will cause your cart to rev to a higher RPM before it starts to shift out. This higher RPM will give you better acceleration and cause quicker backshifting under a load to give you more hill climbing power.

They will only work on the newer FBT style clutches. These will fit the 2007 to 2016 Drive G29 models (with the FBT clutches) and the 2017 and newer Drive2 in the Quietech or Non-Quietech models.

To install this spring, you will need some type of clutch compressor tool.

Torque spec for the secondary clutch bolt is 24 ft lbs.

If your cart has the older 4 rivet secondary clutch, we do highly recommend upgrading to the new 6 rivet clutch which is much stronger.

“Extreme Terrain” Torque Spring

I started out with the green (mid range) and it was a lot better than stock. I wanted more low end so I got the gray “extreme terrain” and it’s worse. Less torque and slower engagement. Save yourself the hassle of buying twice and just get the green. There is nothing “extreme” about this one. I have it paired with a new secondary clutch and the extreme duty Kevlar belt. Going back to the green because this one again has less torque than the green.

Hey James, I just sent you an email to get some more infomation.

Yamaha Drive 2 Back to Life

First cart I’ve owned is this 2021 Driive 2. Live in the hills of southwest Virginia and thought this cart had engine problems when I bought it used. Checked everything from and engine perspective and all was in spec. Emailed power man and he hooked me up with the right secondary spring. Like a different cart….thanks.

Glad it helped! Thank you for your business Brad!

No improvement

I changed out the spring and belt with hopes of it doing better on the hills. I hasn’t made any measurable difference
