It fastened on exactly the same way to a FR 600 V Kawasaki engine. I went to Napa picked up a radiator hose reducer slipped right into the air filter hose reduced it down to go directly over the carburetor inlet. I donβt have any any way of measuring the difference in the engine temperature, but considering both new filters the original and this one there should be no restriction. This new filter should last considerably longer than the original small one that came with the engine I am outside of the warranty and I do not regret doing this at all. I have a bagger on my machine and when I go to empty the bags, it always left chat fall down right over the top of the carburetor inlet which shortened the span of the original air filters considerably this new method at least draws fresh air, considerably higher above the engine.
